Older style with stacked prized that drop into bin.
Once these get close to edge, the curve of the plexiglass keeps them from falling until ALL the way off.
Some places get very creative with the stacked goodies
What seems to be the new style: the "prize" doesn't drop. Rather, a weight on a string is pushed over edge.
Restacking seems somewhat labor-intensive
"Vending Machine Hell" in a back alley at the edge of Akihabara
All the machines are loaded with weird random objects. Also, lots of boxes with labels that seem to be airing different random grievances.
Wide view of vending hell... it's underneath a residence, possibly the owner, but people don't know. Signs all in the cramped space threaten dismemberment and other assorted harm to vandals.
Bear with me, very unique thing I've never seen anywhere. So, these urinals have a motion sensor that activates a video game as soon as you, um, begin your business there. The screens depict you battling another fighter with your urine stream, along with sound effects and music, only hitting them when you're hitting the marked target. When finished, it tells you how many mLs and compares volume to the last person to use the urinal. Only in Japan.
